Part 1 of the Imaginative Reality exhibition took place in Hampstead in July 2012. The pieces below are inspired by the poetical works and character of the English Romantic poet, John Keats (1795 – 1821).
My aim is to create paintings that draw one into the imaginative world, a world not dissimilar to our ordinary world, in terms of the sensations we feel, but a place that is unconstrained by time and space, a neutral world of in betweenness.
The Imaginative Reality is an unconditioned realm of our imagination where the sky is a shade of Purplue (a colour combining purple and blue as invented by Keats in a letter to Fanny Brawne, dated February 1820) , where we stand between night and day.
